On Thursday, Vice President Kamala Harris formally accepted the Democratic presidential nomination, delivering the most pivotal speech of her political career.
In a compelling 40-minute address at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago’s United Center, Harris vowed to "be a president for all Americans."
"I will be a president who unites us around our highest aspirations," she promised. "A president who leads and listens, who is realistic, practical, and possesses common sense, and who always fights for the American people."
She added, "There are people of various political views watching tonight, and I want you to know: I promise to be a president for all Americans."
Throughout her speech, Harris frequently addressed former President Trump, the Republican nominee, warning against his return to the White House.
"In many ways, Donald Trump is an unserious man," she stated. "But the consequences of putting him back in office are extremely serious."
